Welcome Winter?
With tonight being the longest night of the year, the steady rain made for a dark dreary day, but sometimes rain can give you the best light to capture subtle details, and that’s what I did here this afternoon. The detail in the mahogany door, siding, and ceiling, was so cool. I love the reflections on the deck, and the three dimensionality of the woods and fog.
Before the rain began, the sky was very unusual, and the forest had a forboding feeling. The purple mountain in the distance is 2,600 foot Roan Horsetop Mountain. Last year was a white Christmas, but the only thing white THIS Christmas will be my hair.
Vann, Merry Christmas! Gorgeous photos! We are headed to Miami today for Christmas.
Have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year! Keep the pictures coming, we enjoy the benefits of your talents.
Tim’s hair provided the only white in our Bay Area Christmas, too!
Thanks for these beautiful, beautiful photos and your lovely commentary … I get a little mini vacation every time I look through them.
