Snow Covered Mount Mitchell

As the tallest of all the peaks east of the Mississippi, Mt. Mitchell is especially regal after a night of wind blown snow. Can you imagine the view from the rear deck of this home? These photos were made in three different locations to the east of the Black Mountain range. The ridge is about eight miles away. The towers atop the mountain serve television, radio, cellphone, and microwave transmission. Click on any photo below to see the slide show.
