Linville River Gorge in Rain and Mist

Drove along the western ridge overlooking the gorge on Tuesday. Storms were dancing across the mountains from the west. Clouds were rolling in and hugging the rocks and trees. Temperature was in the low 60’s.

Short Off Mountain was majestic to the southeast.

Table Rock was prominent through the trees.

A wet mist was everywhere, and rain was visible over the gorge.

Wiseman’s Point was eerily lofty with the rain moving in. Hawksbill Mountain seemed to remain above the fray.
