Hints of Autumn in the Woods
After two weeks of morning temperatures in the 50’s, summer is singing its Swan Song. Patches of red and yellow are already appearing in the woods.
The dogwood are already halfway to their bright red color, and it’s still August!
The corn stalks are giving up their last traces of summer green.
Even the cattails around Otter Pond have turned yellow. That’s Roan Horsetop Mountain on the horizon. It was 54 this morning.
