A Foggy Sunrise Over Otter Pond

After the remnants of Hurricane Isaac lingered over this area for a few days and dropped five inches of rain, morning fog was the result. The ridges above Otter Pond always offer  good vantage points to capture the fog shrouding the surrounding mountains.

Goldenrod is in bloom in the woods. Above is Dick’s Mountain.

As the sun’s first rays break through the fog, the contrast in color is dramatic.

The roof of my home is barely visible through the pines. Dick’s Mountain looms in the background.

Colors in the woods around the pond continue to intensify…

  1. Just lovely! Even though the ones of the fog were nice, my favorite one is the one with the pop of color from the sunshine coming out!
